The Breton & District Historical Museum is the only museum in the province that has a major focus on the Black settlement history of Alberta. Keystone (Breton) was one of four such rural communities in Alberta founded by Black settlers from Oklahoma and neighbouring states during the first part of the 20th century. Located at the Breton Golf Course along Highway 20, the CentraPlex houses a licensed restaurant, pro shop and dance studio. The CentraPlex is a non-smoking building, with a large deck for outside eating and socializing. The dance studio is used by Miss Joanne's School of Dance September thru May. The CentraPlex houses a pro-shop and licensed restaurant, with a covered patio for outside dining. A serviced RV park with tennis court and a paved outdoor skating rink is located nearby with easy access to the golf course. Tee times are encouraged to be booked for weekends. Call 780-696-3531.

The Breton Community Centre is the heart of many special events in village of Breton. Located at the east end of Main Street, the Community Centre has the capacity to hold 300 people, making it a wonderful place to have weddings, socials, funerals and smaller events such as meetings, anniversaries and special birthdays. Local community groups such as the Elks, Royal Purple, Scouts and Golden Age Club use the Community Centre on a weekly basis. The Community Centre is a non-smoking building. The Community Centre is operated through the Breton Agricultural Society and bookings can be made by contacting the Breton Village Office.

Breton High School includes grades 7 to 12. It is a streamlined high tech institution offering a full academic program and 16 out of 22 strands in Career and Technology Studies. It also offers an I.O.P. program supplemented with remedial education on a student need basis. Breton High School has an extensive computer department and was the first school to be on the internet by satellite. With the arrival of the oil boom, an in one year (1953), the town grew from 75 to 2,000 people. The hamlet continued to grow, and was incorporated as a village in February 1956. Two other communities also grew out of the influx of workers — Lodgepole and Cynthia. Drayton Valley was the main service and residential centre, and on February 1st, 1957, Drayton Valley was officially incorporated as a town.
