Breton and Area FCSS is a Municipal/Provincial cost-shared program that enhances family and community life. Services focus on prevention, volunteerism, and supporting residents of all ages.

Schools
in Breton

Breton is part of the Wild Rose School Division No. 66, headquartered in Rocky Mountain House. 

​

  • Breton Elementary School (K–6): Focused on building the best possible future for each child. The school emphasizes individualized learning, offers a well-used library with computer access, and provides programs such as speech therapy through the District Health Board.

​

  • Breton High School (7–12): A modern, high-tech institution offering a full academic program and 16 of 22 strands in Career and Technology Studies. Breton High School also offers an I.O.P. program, remedial education, distance learning, and a well-equipped cosmetology department. 

​

Parent involvement is welcomed through the Breton High School Parent Advisory Council, which supports a positive learning environment and meets monthly during the school year.

Emergency Services

Breton is known as a safe and secure community, with a range of emergency services available:

​

  • Fire Services: Contracted through Brazeau County, with a local fire station staffed by volunteer firefighters and a full-time Fire Chief.

​

  • RCMP Detachment: Serving Breton and surrounding communities, responsible for 1,100 square miles of jurisdiction.

​

  • Ambulance Services: Stationed at the Breton Medical Centre, providing 24/7 support.

​

  • Circuit Courthouse & Victim Services: Offering judicial services and immediate crisis intervention for victims of crime or trauma. Court is held the 1st & 3rd Wednesday each month.

Health Services

Breton provides local access to health and wellness services, including:

  • Breton Health Centre: A 23-bed extended care hospital encouraging independence and comfort for residents.

​

  • Breton Main Street Medial Clinic -  open 3 days/ week - 780-696-0112

​

  • Dental Clinic & Denture Clinics: High-tech dentistry, orthodontics, and denture services available locally.

Senior Housing & Support

  • Spruce View Court: An 18-unit seniors housing complex, offering self-contained suites operated by the Brazeau Seniors Foundation. Rent is based on income, and the complex is designed for independence in a supportive environment.

​

  • Golden Age Friendship Centre: A hub for senior recreation and social activities, including floor curling, bocce ball, and monthly events.
